Yoho! My first post over-here. Anyway, people might have noticed that a Mega Man X Legacy Collection(s) was released a while back.
There's reviews for all the games in my blog if you're into that but here's a ranking summing up my thoughts.

Anyway, this is a forum, I'd like to hear what other people thought about the X games...

There was a Mega man x collection? When did this happen and why didn't anyone tell me?

I'm surprised to see x2 so low, I thought any classic 2d game could be put about x7.

I knew nothing about x8 before reading this. I kinda want to play it now, sounds like the 2.5d X game I've wanted.

Zero is my favorite, I'll defend him with my life 😝

I've only played the remake of x1 on PSP but it was easily one of my favorite games on the title so I can understand. And yes I did actually read the whole thing before you start that again xD

Mega Man X Legacy Collections 1 & 2 were released last month I think for all platforms (not sure on Switch, but I think it's there as well).

Collection 1 has X1 - X4 and Collection 2 has X5 - X8.

Good list although I find it interesting (as in the good kind, not the I'M SHAMING YOU kind) that X2 is so low on the list... Then again, can't judge, haven't played X2 yet.  Actually, makes me more curious to play X2 and X6 but if it'll be anything like my X7 experience, it'll be full of pain and despair to the 3rd degree!

Like I said about X2, it's not so much that the game is flat-out bad. I think you may even enjoy it.

I actually started replaying it this week and I was very quickly reminded of what I hate about it. Namely, if you want to get Zero's parts you have to hunker down and get a few of the Sub and Hearth Tanks and X's parts to stand a chance against the X Hunters and this inevitably forces you to replay Wheel Gator and Bubble Crab's stages a lot (Gator's level is the easiest level to harvest health for the Sub-Tank).

And I kept trying to fight the X Hunter's in Overdrive Ostrich's level since the mini-boss room is right at the start. Having to replay those levels constantly just reminds me of how bland the soundtrack and levels are for the most part.

Plus, it's practically impossible to beat most of the bosses with your normal weapon at the start meaning that you're pretty much forced to follow the weapon-weakness pattern through the game.
